What once started as a hobby, became a passion, … the passion for photography.

I am born in Tienen (Belgium) on the 13th of March 1956 as the son of an agricultural family and spend most of my lifetime in the rural village of Hoegaarden, famous for its wellknown White Beer.

One day by helping a friend printing black & white photographs in his darkroom, the passion for this medium has been awakened and soon I introduced myself in the art of photography. During my military service in 1978 I learned the basics by reading books on cameras, lenses, film processing, printing, lighting techniques, etc.

I started as an amateur photographer and purchased my first SLR, a fully manual Chinon CS. Later, a large number of Nikon cameras were added to the list. In 1985 I graduated as a professional photographer and started a small business. Weddings, portraits and publicity were the main occupations while portraits, glamour and artistic nudes became the main subjects for my fine art work.

Today I am using the Nikon D700 full frame digital camera equiped with a few Nikkor lenses in combination with Elinchrom EL500 electronic flahes and reflectors.

In may 2007 I left Belgium to start up a bed & breakfast in the South of France. Together with my wife Carine and our lovely dogs Clio and Witsie we run ‘Le Chant des Oiseaux’ in a small village between Alès and Anduze in the departement of the Gard (30) and situated near by the Cévennes, Europe’s largest natural habitat of about 900 km² protected and approximately 3000 km² unprotected area.

This website shows you my photographic work so far and is devided in 2 main sections: “The portrait, glamour and artistic nude section” and “The nature, wildlife, architecture and travel section”.

Feel free to share your opinion by writing down your comments in the guestbooks dedicated to each section.

Thanks for visiting me and hopefully meet you again during another virtual visit.
